Meet the founders
Meet Georgie and Garry, mates for 20 years and passionate about creating Australiaâs most nutritionally dense, healthy, premium dog food – Farmers Mate for Pets.
What started in a moment in a pet store, questioning âwhy canât I find any fresh, Australian-made dog food?â that developed into a Victorian-run business that supports local producers, farmers and independent pet shops.
Our mission is to create whole food yumminess that supports your dog’s tummy, skin and energy needs, with premium ingredients sourced directly from the farm gate.
Launching a pet food business is a natural progression for us, in 2021 we noticed that there were limited local suppliers of quality pet food in the Australian market. Â Pet food suppliers were shipping their dog food in, which is why there was a shortage during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Having both worked in food manufacturing & food safety and Georgieâs family originating from the premium meat trading community, we decided to give it a go! Â Fast forward to today – Farmers Mate for Pets was created.

Mix and mingle, just like at a doggy playdate! Our product pairs perfectly with premium kibble, adding some âpawsomeâ variety to their mealtime.
How do I prepare my pets meal using a Farmers Mate For Pets product?
Time to play chef! Cut the product into bite-sized chunks. Store it chilled or frozen, and feel free to mix it with kibble or mealtime leftovers. Paws for a moment! We have an easy to follow daily feeding table as a helpful guide, but every pup is unique.
For the paw-fect portion tailored to your fur baby, consult your veterinarian.
Is it ok to freeze Farmers Mate meals?
Absolutely chill! You can pop our product in the freezer before the use-by date for up to 6 months.
When itâs time to defrost, just let it hang out in the fridge for safety and freshness.
And remember, it must be consumed within 3-5 days.
